All of our libraries are officially out on the latest WPILib for the 2026 season. YAGSL didn’t change much this year on purpose. We’re saving our major changes for 2027, though the field element definitions did get updated to REBUILT. YAMS picked up several new example projects, including a turret, and YALL added support for Limelight 4 IMU updates and stopped throwing an exception when a Limelight isn’t found at instantiation.
We’re also already beta testing something bigger with our founding teams: YAGSL 2027. It’s built on top of YAMS, uses an updated JSON config format, and has simulation and configuration patterns we think teams are going to like once it’s ready for everyone. A new config generator that accepts JSON upload is part of that beta too, and Kraken X60 definitions are already in.
YAMS is also getting Ri3D-based templates this season, and kitbot code from BroncBotz’s lead programmer is already live for anyone who wants a starting point. We’re separately working with Team 6911 on bringing their Chinese Remainder Theorem implementation into YAMS as an option for pivot and turret configuration, more on that once it’s ready.
